The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations
About the Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations
In 1895 Georges Polti published this book to support and expand upon the theory that there are only thirty-six dramatic situations in all of fiction. Since then, the book has become a popular staple on the shelves of writers worldwide, expanding on those thirty-six situations with examples and further description to assist modern writers be it for plays, novels, TV, movies or even tabletop role-playing games.

The Second Left Edition
The Second Left version of the Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations varies from other versions in a few key areas.

-
Text Recreation. The text of the book has been completely digitally redone based on the original source. This isn't a scan, it's a complete recreation of the original text. Having this as digtal text allows us to create various print and digital versions with ease now that the hard work has been done.
-
Font Size. The original text was a smaller format book with a smaller font. We've increased the font size fractionally in order too allow for easier reading.
-
Consistent Layout. There were many inconsistencies in the original text on layout, formatting etc. We've made the format consistent across the entire book.
-
Modern Formatting. We've updated some of the formatting to reflect more modern stylings, especially in the area of referencing other works.
