In the 1920s Radium was heralded as the magical new material. It could cure anything, it was the solution to every health issue imaginable. It could even cure cancer.

Originally published in 1926 this book details what people thought of Radium at the time. From disease treatment, to how every room will have Radium paint in order to read at night without electricity.

Of course as we know now, radiation is more damaging and dangerous than was believed in the 1920s, and while the dangers were only just coming to be known (and really came to light from the Radium Girls) they weren't in the public consciousness as of yet. As a result this book is a fascinating look into the hopeful future of the era that never came to pass.

The text is as it was originally written, with some typos corrected and laid out in a larger font so our older eyes can read it.

Available now in Print on Demand format from Amazon around the world.
