Welcome to Second Left Publishing. This has been a dream hobby project for me for some time, and life has given me the opportunity to pursue it for now. So what are we and why are we here?

Well other than being a general bibliophile, some of my major interests are history and roleplaying games. I've always wanted to do something that can support these interests together, and this is what I've come up

with. Second Left Publishing will be producing (or re-issueing) multiple book types, some of which may not necessarily have much in common with each other. (As I said, this is a hobby company at least for now.)

• Historical books

  • There are many books out there that are no longer available that can still be of interest to the modern reader. I'm looking to bring many of them back into print, or at least an updated clean modern digital format, so they can be enjoyed again. Think old guidebooks, items that are indicative of the mindset of a particular time period, a look into the past and a regeneration of classics.

  • Some books will be straight recreated reworks of existing works.

  • Some books will be newly created and of interest to historical periods.

• Roleplaying Books

  • I'm planning on releasing supplements for various roleplaying games, mostly generic, that cover various topics such as locational guides, planet books, adventures, generic system supplements.

  • Additionally I am looking into publishing for some licenced systems such as Traveller and Call of Cthulhu. These will be done as part of the respective community programs on DriveThruRPG and not published directly here.

    • For Traveller it will be on the Traveller's Aid Society.

    • For Call of Cthulhu they will be part of the Miskatonic Repository program.

• The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations

  • The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations was postulated back in the 1800s as being the only possible dramatic situations. It's up for debate, but it's proven to be a useful resource for writers for over a century. I've digitally recreated the original book translation and have published it through Amazon's print on demand service.

  • Now that the original has been reprinted, I am also working on an enhanced edition with more modern examples and other analysis to bring it a bit more up to date.

  • I will also be connecting this in with the RPG publishing mentioned above to illustrate how its useful in many situations

• Other publishing

  • There is a lot of other items that we have on our list, so stay tuned.
